Unusual lamb born without any wool gets amazing new coat
Meet Skippy, the unusual-looking lamb born without its own wool coat. The young sheep was “completely abandoned” by its mother when it was born on a farm in the Wiltshire village of Chilton Foliat. Despite a difficult start in life, the lamb is now thriving after receiving a borrowed fluffy fleece to keep warm and for blending in with the other sheep on the farm.
Nicknamed Skippy after being compared to a kangaroo, the male lamb has been described as a “freak of nature” by farm hand Sally-Ann Fisher who won’t be shearing the youngster anytime soon.
“We've made a little jacket for him to wear out of an old jumper to keep him warm at night,” explained Ms Fisher, who farms with her partner in the south-west. Thankfully, the lamb wasn’t born in winter, and can hopefully look forward to some spring sunshine over the next few months.
